In lead up to National Tree Planting Day, get your hands dirty and come and plant tubestock with us in the community.
Harber Park was chosen as an ideal location to increase Urban Tree Canopy Cover and create a wildlife corridor.
Here are some reasons why planting trees would greatly benefit you:
Seeing the fruits of your planting efforts over time is a great way to establish a connection with nature
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community
Spending time outdoors such as at tree planting events can significantly improve mental health and physical well-being, reduce stress and promote overall wellbeing
You don't need to know how to garden. Staff members are available to assist with planting and to provide information about the City's Urban Forest
You are helping to increase the canopy cover of the city.
Please wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing that you don't mind if they get dirty.
Bring a water bottle and all equipment, tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided
Please note that parking at Harber Park is limited. Additionally, there are no toilet facilities at Harber Park. The nearest public toilets are located at Don Simmons Park, approximately 1 km away (about a 2-minute drive).
The event is in partnership with Armadale Gosnell's Landcare Group (AGLG)
