The City of Armadale was one of the first Councils in WA to develop an Urban Forest Strategy. It's a five-year strategy that plans our urban forests, urban canopy cover, and floral growth and sustainability across our community.
It's a vital way that we plan and protect our natural environment, and the City is currently reviewing our Urban Forest Strategy for the next five year period.
We're inviting the community to provide feedback on how we can continue to grow and nurture our urban canopy, and we need your help to make our City a greener, cooler, and more vibrant place to live.
How can I get involved?
The City undertook a survey to greater understand community perspectives on key issues related to urban forests. This survey has now closed and will be used to inform the new Strategy. A summary of the community feedback can be found under the documents section.
Next steps?
A draft strategy will be created. This draft will be issued for community comment in the coming months prior to being adopted.
