Troon Park Playground Replacement
Exciting Times Ahead: Troon Park Playground Replacement
The playground at Troon Park is due for replacement and this is your chance to play a part in the adventure.
Works to replace the existing playground are set to commence in 2024, with expected completion in April 2024.
How can I be involved?
We value your input! If you're a local resident or a Troon Park enthusiast, your ideas can shape the future of play in our community. We're eager to collaborate with you in designing a playground that reflects the community's needs.
Stage one consultation – Stage one review:
Stage one of the consultation ran for 2 weeks and involved nearby residents and users of Troon Park to partake in a survey focused on how to improve play at Troon prior to replacing the current playground.
From the results, participants wanted to see the current playground modernised with a variety of play experiences – especially swinging and sliding! Following the need to update the current playground, improving access and providing additional park amenities was commonly requested.
All feedback received from the surveys were then collated and used to help form the basis of the proposed concept plan.
Stage two consultation – Closed
Following the survey's feedback, we've drawn up a concept plan that embodies the community's requests for a modern playground with plenty of swinging and sliding!
You can expect to see:
- New playground equipment, including a large structure with slide, climbing, balance and imaginative play elements
- Installation of a new swing seat featuring both a rigid and basket swing
- New picnic area
- Replacement of existing playground mulch
- Access improvement to existing amenities
- New connecting pathways
- Landscaping

Works will commence in late March 2024 with anticipated completion in May 2024.
For the duration of upgrade and to allow construction to go ahead safely, the current space will be temporarily closed with the construction site surrounded by fencing.
The majority of works will involve earthworks, landscaping and modifications. The primary hours of work will be on weekdays from 7.00am to 5.00pm. There may be some noise and dust during the work for nearby residents and businesses. We will make every effort to minimise the impact of the works on the community as much as possible.
The City of Armadale thanks local residents and businesses in advance for their patience during these works. Construction work is not expected to have an adverse impact on any resident or property, however should you wish to discuss any concerns prior to the works commencing or during the construction period, please contact the Parks Development team on 9394 5000 or email parkdesign@armadale.wa.gov.au(External link).
