Exciting Time Ahead: Rushton Park Playground Replacement!

The playgrounds at Rushton Park are due for replacement and this is your chance to play a part in the adventure! Works to replace the existing playground are set to commence in April 2025, with expected completion in June 2025.

How can I be involved?

We value your input! If you’re a local resident or a Rushton Park enthusiast, your ideas can shape the future of play in our community. We’re eager to collaborate with you in designing a playground that reflects the community’s needs. The City will run a three staged engagement process, allowing users and residents to follow along with the project journey.

Stage one consultation – Now Closed.

The survey opened on Monday 12 August and closed at midnight Monday 2 September 2024.
Following feedback received from the survey, a concept plan will be developed and provided back to the community for comment as part of the second stage of consultation.

Stage two consultation – Concept Design - Review of the design is now open!

Following the survey's feedback, a concept plan has been developed that embodies the community's request for a modern playground with plenty of swinging, sliding and gliding!

You can expect to see:

- New playground equipment with slides, rope play, imaginative play, climbing and balance elements.

- A new combined play area with both mulch and rubber playground surfacing.

- A huge double flying fox with an All-Abilities seat.

- Multiple swings including a nest swing and a double A frame swing.

Check out the proposed concept plan in the documents tab to the right. Feel free to share your thoughts or comments with us below or by emailing
parkdesign@armadale.wa.gov.au

Stage three consultation – Notification of works commencing

Expected March/April 2025.

We are also consulting on the broader playground renewal program across the City of Armadale. Visit the Engage page to learn more.
