Consultation has concluded

Things are going to be a bit different this year when you vote in the local government elections. The State Government have introduced some reforms that will be implemented for the October 2023 elections:

Optional preferential voting means voters will have the choice of numbering the ballot boxes in their order of preference if they want to, and this year will be the first time that the City of Armadale has had a public election for its Mayor. Previously the City’s Mayor has been elected by all of the councillors and this was done every 2 years. A publicly elected Mayor however will be in place for 4 years.

Don’t forget to vote! The City of Armadale is encouraging residents and ratepayers to ensure they have a voice in choosing the best people to represent their community and participate in this year’s Local Government elections.

Election packages will be posted to all electors before Election Day and if you have not received your ballot by Friday 13 October please contact the City of Armadale to organise a replacement package.

For more information call 9394 5000 or visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au.
