John Dunn Challenge Park is now open!

The Challenge Park is a significant addition to the John Dunn reserve.  The park provides cycle based activities for a wide range of ages and abilities.

     Features include:

  • Pump tracks for beginner and advanced riders
  • Jump tracks for beginner, intermediate and advanced/extreme
  • Skills loop
  • Bike safety track
  • Bike playground
  • Hard and soft landscaping
  • Bike - minor maintenance kit
  • Site furniture
  • Public toilet
  • Signage

    13 April 2022 $1.6M Outstanding Bike Track Opens in Armadale


    • A $1.6M bike facility was today officially opened by City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield and Armadale MLA Tony Buti
    • The new state-of-the-art bike track at John Dunn Challenge Park caters for cycle-based activities for a wide range of ages and abilities
    • The facility offers pump tracks for beginner and advanced riders, jump tracks at beginner, intermediate and advanced/extreme levels, skills loop, bike playground, and a mountain bike skills trail around the park’s perimeter
    • Construction was supported by a $270,000 Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund Grant from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, with the remainder of $1.3M funded by the City of Armadale

    John Dunn Challenge Park is a new state of the art bike park catering to the fast growing sports of BMX and mountain bike riding. Riders of all ages can improve their bike handling skills and develop new expertise at the new facility.

    Open for use just in time for the Easter long weekend, the bike track is sure to attract lots of local interest and also be a drawcard for visiting bike enthusiasts. John Dunn Challenge Park provides a gateway into serious mountain bike trails situated in Armadale and the Perth Hills.
