The Forrestdale Sporting Precinct, located at the corner of Armadale Road and Weld Street, is set to undergo redevelopment, commencing in late-2024—a long-awaited community project.

What this project has to offer:
Forrestdale Sporting Pavilion - Stage 1
Construction commencing financial year 2024/25. Cost $6,081,500
- A new sports pavilion that consolidates the current functions of Ian Pratt and William Skeet Pavilions.
- Additional parking infrastructure.
Forrestdale Pavilion External Works
Construction commencing financial year 2026/27. Cost $1,965,000
Includes:
- New multi-marked hardcourts.
- Youth space.
- Playgrounds.
Forrestdale Community Hall
Construction commencing financial year 2028/29. Cost $5,921,980.
- A new community facility comprising a hall, child-friendly space, and community service areas.
- A new accessway that allows entry from Armadale Road to Weld Street, along with additional parking.
The redeveloped Forrestdale Sporting Precinct holds the potential to become a valuable link and central hub for residents, sporting associations, and community groups. It will offer access to local services, activities, support structures, sporting facilities, equipment, and affiliations, providing opportunities for social and civic engagement. These services, networks, and physical assets work together to lay the foundation for a strong and empowered Forrestdale community.
The Forrestdale Sporting Precinct includes the William and Alfred Skeet Reserves and is a 9.9 hectare site that contains:
- Alfred Skeet soccer fields
- William Skeet oval & cricket nets
- Alfred Skeet pavilion
- Forrestdale Sporting Association building
- Ian Pratt pavilion
- Playground
- Tennis courts
- Forrestdale Hall and community space including Forrestdale Community Kindergarten
Previous projects have successfully completed upgrades to the Alfred Skeet playing field, including lighting and change room improvements, as well as enhancements to the William Skeet playing field, encompassing cricket net and lighting upgrades.
