Consultation has concluded

The City is undertaking asphalt works on Croyden Road, Roleystone. Weather permitting, works will be completed between Monday 6 May 2024 and Saturday 11 May 2024, from 7am to 5pm. There will be no night or Sunday works.

Please note that the planned works for Saturday 11 May will only take place if the project experiences delays. If Total Fire Ban days are announced, works may be put on hold and rescheduled which may also delay the works to be completed.

🚧🚦 Full Road Closure & Active Worksite

Due to the nature of the works, the construction will require a full road closure between McNess Drive (Canning Dam Road) and House Number 216 Croyden Road. The road closure will affect the westbound access for vehicles leaving McNess Drive (Canning Dam Road) and there will be no access through Croyden Road to the Araluen Botanic Park. Access to the Araluen Botanic Park will be from Brookton Hwy, onto Gardiner Road or the short bridged connecting road from McNess Drive (Canning Dam Road).

The worksite will be under full Traffic Management and the Contractor will have multiple Traffic Controllers (TC) situated at strategic locations and include advance warning and restriction signage. The TCs can and should be approached for any advice before entering the road.

Croyden Road will become an active worksite and as such the safety of all concerned is paramount. Safe vehicle access for local residents only will be provided when safe to do so, with access to properties being limited at times while works are in progress. Full access will be available at all other times and in case of emergencies. This is particularly relevant to House Numbers: 312, 274, 240, 278, 276, 236 and 216 and we ask the residents to advise the City of any specific medical or delivery requirements planned over the period of works. Residents of Armenti Road can access Gardiner Road via the short Canning Dam bridge and access Brookton Highway at Karragullen.

We advise extra care should also be taken when exiting and entering inclined driveways off the area inside the works.

πŸ“… Monday 6 May

The planned profiling works which will be noisy and dusty. The road surface will be swept immediately after profiling but left in a granular state with ‘Loose Surface’ signage and, as such, a reduced speed is advised.

πŸ“… Tuesday 7 May

No works are expected and all traffic restriction will be lifted for the day.

πŸ“… Wednesday 8 May - Saturday 11 May

The critical part of the works occurs on Wednesday 8 May where a total closure is required to lay the geogrid. Asphalting works are planned for Thursday 9 May and Friday 10 May, and the aim is to have these works completed on Friday 10. However, we have included the Saturday in case we need the extra time.

The asphalting works will result in access restrictions for local residencies as the road becomes un-trafficable until the asphalting is completed.

While it is inevitable that works of this nature will cause some inconvenience to yourself and persons living in the area, every effort will be made to ensure that this is kept to a minimum.

We thank you for your patience during the completion of these works.
