As part of the Civic Lights Upgrade, lighting upgrades are planned in the City Centre within Memorial Park, around trees adjacent to Orchard Avenue, and within Minnawarra Park.
The lighting works will renew existing pedestrian luminaires and provide ambient feature lighting to a number of significant trees in the City’s parks.
The scope of this project involves:
Removal and replacement of existing pedestrian lighting in Memorial Park.
Installation of feature tree lighting - including up-lights, bud lights, and directional spotlights - to celebrate a number of the City’s landmark trees within Memorial Park, Minnawarra Park, and the surrounding civic precinct.
Modifications to existing electrical infrastructure and cabling to support and deliver the new works.
Reinstatement works, including paving and turf restoration.
🔨 Construction works for the Civic Lights upgrade project commence February 2026, with works occurring on weekdays between 7.00am and 5.00pm.
⏰ Lighting works will reach practical completion in April 2026.
Whilst every effort will be made to minimise disruption to adjacent businesses and community as much as possible, there may be some noise and dust during this period. Thank you for your patience during this time.
