As our new neighbourhoods grow, we’re committed to making them greener, cooler and more enjoyable places to live. One way we do that is through our neighbourhood street tree program 'Canopy for Community' — an investment in the long‑term health and character of your street.

Trees aren't just for Parks When greenery is part of your everyday surroundings, you get the benefits right at your doorstep.

Why join in?

  • Keep your cool: Trees provide natural shade that can lower cooling costs and keep your street comfortable even in the peak of summer.

  • Boost property value: Leafy, attractive streets are a real asset and can increase the value and appeal of your home.

  • The right tree for the right place: We carefully choose species that are suited to your street, so they look great, grow well and won't cause issues as they mature.

And the best part?

We take care of everything. Your tree is provided free of charge, planted by our team, watered during establishment and maintained for life. Any additional water and love supplied by our residents to help the trees thrive is welcomed.

If your property is within an eligible area, you’ll receive a detailed letter inviting you to take part in the 2027 planting season.
If you’re outside the program area, you can still request a street tree anytime through the Street Tree Request Program.
