Proposed Permanent Closure of the Portion of Napier Street, between Broome Street and Leake Street, Forrestdale
On 24 February 2025 Council resolved (D6/2/25) to initiate an amendment to the City’s Town Planning Schedule No. 4 (TPS 4) to rezone the area known as the Forrestdale Townsite East Urban Precinct from ‘Rural Living 2’ zone and ‘Public Purpose – Drainage’ reserve to ‘Urban Development’ zone. The proposed amendment will bring TPS 4 into conformity with the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS).
In considering the Scheme Amendment, Council resolved to:
7. Advertise the closure of the portion of Napier Street between Broome Street and Leake Street under Section 58(3) of the Land Administration Act 1997 and transfer of the land to a Crown Reserve for “Recreation and Conservation” purposes.
The unmade road reservation contains a large amount of mature remnant vegetation and the action proposed by Council will enable the retention of this vegetation in perpetuity.
Should you wish to make comment please complete the online submission form or email info@armadale.wa.gov.au no later than 26 June 2025
The proposed closure will then be presented to Council for determination.
If you have any queries regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact Michelle Donaldson, Administrative Lands Officer via email at info@armadale.wa.gov.au or by telephone on (08) 9394 5739.
