The City is seeking community input into the development of Outdoor Youth Facility Provision study.
Harrisdale/Piara Waters Outdoor Youth Facilities
At its Council meeting in April 2022, the City resolved (C9/4/22) to receive a report that addresses the following scope of works:
To ensure holistic planning of types, scale and location of facilities, it was recommended to undertake an outdoor youth facility provision study. The aim of the study is to provide the City with a strategic, long term plan for the location and development of skate and BMX facilities.
The Study will include:
Undertaking an audit of all existing facilities and spatial provision
Analysing demographic data and trends to assess current and future demand over the next 10 years
Consultation with stakeholders and the community
Establish a hierarchy of skate and BMX facilities and outline preferred locations within the Harrisdale and Piara Waters areas - including type & scale (local, neighbourhood or district)
Identify potential funding options and staged implementation approach
Skate Sculpture has been appointed as lead consultants to undertake the Study.
