Armadale Central Park project
Welcome to the Central Park project...
... Where the future of Armadale connects. Central Park is one step closer.
The City of Armadale is thrilled to share that full funding for the Central Park project has now been secured, marking an important milestone for this once-in-a-generation project that will create a new civic heart for our growing community.
With the recent confirmation of contributions from the Federal Government, Lotterywest, the City of Armadale, and the WA Government (METRONET), the project now has the green light to progress into construction planning.
Over the past year, more than 8,600 community visits and 560 detailed surveys have shaped the vision for this space. You told us you wanted a welcoming, shaded place to gather, regional-level nature and youth play, water-wise landscaping, cultural recognition, and safe, accessible connections to the elevated Armadale Station and Jull Street. This feedback has guided every step of the design process so far.
What happens next
Over the coming months, the project team will focus on:
- Finalising the detailed design, incorporating the community feedback received
- Working closely with METRONET and State partners on staging and approvals
- Scheduling construction to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents
- Preparing on-site hoarding that will include QR-codes linking directly back to this page for ongoing updates

What we heard from our community:
From more than a year of listening, several themes stood out:
- A central, welcoming hub with shade, seating and spaces to gather.
- Nature and youth play that’s inclusive, challenging and distinctive to Armadale.
- Safer, more active places with lighting, passive surveillance and all-abilities access.
- Greener and cooler spaces with trees, water-wise landscaping and biodiversity.
- Safe and active connections between the station forecourt, Jull Street Mall and Armadale West.
Our vision:
Armadale’s Central Park will be a dynamic, multi-use space that bridges the new station and city centre. It will offer something for everyone! Regional nature play, youth facilities, places to rest, meet and celebrate, while acting as a catalyst for the renewal of the station precinct and surrounding main streets.
Why it matters for Armadale:
- A new civic heart: A huge public space connecting people to the City Centre and Perth’s rail network.
- A regional destination: Landmark play and youth facilities that draw visitors and support local business.
- An economic boost: More foot traffic and activity - day and night - helping main streets thrive.
- Greener, cooler city: More trees and habitat, reducing urban heat and improving amenity.
- Active travel: Safer, more direct links for walking, wheeling and public transport.
