Burtonia Park in Piara Waters is getting an upgrade!

The park improvements will create a family friendly recreational space for the Piara Waters community. Upgrades will focus on youth orientated equipment and park amenities.

So what improvements can you expect to see?

  • Installation of a cricket net
  • Improvements to existing basketball amenities
  • New playground equipment with additional shade
  • New shelter & picnic areas
  • Drink fountain & BBQ
  • New connecting pathways
  • Landscaping

You can see the concept in the documents tab to the right 👉

Works will commence in the second week of February 2024 with anticipated completion in April 2024.

For the duration of upgrade and to allow construction to go ahead safely, the current space will be temporarily closed with the construction site surrounded by fencing.

The majority of works will involve earthworks, landscaping and modifications to retained park infrastructure/landscaping. The primary hours of work will be on the weekdays from 7.00am to 5.00pm. There may be some noise and dust during the work for nearby residents and businesses. We will make every effort to minimise the impact of the works on the community as much as possible.

The City of Armadale thanks local residents and businesses in advance for their patience during these works. Construction work is not expected to have an adverse impact on any resident or property, however should you wish to discuss any concerns prior to the works commencing or during the construction period, please contact the Parks Development team on 9394 5000 or email parkdesign@armadale.wa.gov.au.

Thank you for your feedback. We have passed this information onto our Parks Maintenance team to conduct a site visit to assess whether any vegetation needs to be trimmed to allow for better surveillance.

The City recently sought community input into the development of a Outdoor Youth Facility Provision study in Harrisdale and Piara Waters. The survey has since closed but can be found at  https://engage.armadale.wa.gov.au/harrisdale-piara-waters-outdoor-youth-facilities

Council has yet to make a decision on specific projects and timelines. We are currently in the concept stage, and project completion is contingent on community support, Council approval, detailed design, and funding. It is expected that a combination of external and council funding will be required.

Any future skate park plans will be contingent on a suitable location and any potential funding sources.
