Armadale is well known for its walking trails, wildflowers and natural landscapes. The City is now exploring how the stars above us could become part of the visitor experience through the growing field of astrotourism.
Dark sky tourism is one of the fastest-growing travel trends worldwide, with more people seeking opportunities to reconnect with nature and experience the wonder of a star-filled sky. Less than an hour from Perth, Armadale's elevated lookouts, natural landscapes and pockets of darker skies present a unique opportunity to experience the night in a whole new way.
To help shape this vision, the City of Armadale is working with astrotourism specialist Carol Redford to explore opportunities for future stargazing experiences and identify locations that showcase our region's night skies.
