Anstey Road Redevelopment program and interim measures to improve safety on the road reserve
Anstey Road falls within an area referred to as the Anstey Keane Urban Development Precinct. The precinct, which is approximately 60 hectares in area was historically used for rural purposes. In 2019, the precinct was rezoned to enable urban development to occur.
The area is expected to be home to approximately 4000 residents when fully developed. As part of the urbanisation of the precinct, several infrastructure upgrades have been required including the need for new and upgraded roads and utility servicing infrastructure.
From June 2024, the City will undertake several measures to improve the usability of Anstey Road. One of the main improvements in the coming months will be work on the road shoulders to allow them to be more easily traversed by people, prams and bikes. Construction of the road shoulder was completed in September 2024.
